Mark Magid reflected on one of South Manchester Sports 2nds greatest ever wins after his side staged a remarkable comeback to book their spot in the Tony Cohen Cup final.
South Manchester looked down and out with Oakhill Lions holding a five-goal advantage heading into the second-leg.
But a shell-shocked Oakhill collapsed as the visitors ran riot before claiming a penalty shoot-out triumph.
South Manchester boss Marc Magid told JC Sport: "It was a memorable day and one we didn’t envisage. I think complacency cost Oakhill. They thought they only had to turn up and they would not lose their five-goal deficit.
"I’m only concerned about us and it was an incredible game. It just shows that a game is never over."
Oakhill were in the box-seat and were still in control at half-time despite trailing 3-1. But the visitors gained momentum to take the time to extra-time before earning a famous shootout win.
Mike Herz struck twice before Dave Flax, Mike Filson, Loz Newman and Dan Linton were all on target.
Magid, who played left-back, added: “There were a few outstanding performers. I also have to thank Neil Collins who stood in to orchestrate the team on the sidelines."
Oakhill scored via Mike Levy and Daniel Rabinowitz but this was a game to forget for the students as they were taught a harsh lesson.
South Manchester will now face Reich Insurance Rangers in the final at Salford next month.
Reich edged past Maccabi Manchester Yellow 4-3 on aggregate. Joseph Mann netted the all-important winner via a first-half free-kick. The hosts launched wave after wave of attacks but Reich defended for their lives.
Goalkeeper Akivah Lieberman’s late save to foil Jordan Kaye ensured Reich progressed.
Reich director of football Mike Gastwirth said: "It was a tight game but we were organised and did everyone to protect our lead.
"They threw everything at us but we held on and are delighted to be in the final."
