Russell Snipper is predicting big things from his young guns after naming his Team Maccabi GB Ten Pin Bowling squad for this summer’s European Maccabi Games.
Snipper has selected six athletes who he believes will bring success in Berlin and, in doing so, repeat the exploits of the 2011 squad, who returned home with an impressive five-medal-haul – including golds in the Trios and Team events.
He said: "I'm excited by the team we're taking out to Berlin. We have two young bowlers - Craig Grant and Russell Shear - with bags of potential, representing Great Britain for the first time as bowlers, along with Adam Michaels and Richard Da Costa whose pedigree is second to none.
"Then there’s the experience of Brad Mervish and myself. I have high expectations going in to the EMG, and expect to come back with a few medals.
"Representing Team Maccabi GB is a huge honour for all of us – especially for a European Maccabi Games as historic as this one in Germany - and I'm sure we'll do the whole of UK’s Jewish Community proud."
