Excellent displays from Neil Lederman and Andrew Greenwall-Cohen helped London Maccabi Vale 1st maintain their title charge in the Middlesex Sunday League Division One.

Some lusty blows over the top were the highlight of Lederman's valuable innings of 63 against Finchley. He added 50 runs together with Jon Daniels and then took a back-seat as Greenwall-Cohen (47) blasted several boundaries and three sixes in a similar stand as LMV closed on 243.

Lederman (2-21), Weitzman and Greenwall-Cohen (3-21) kept LMV in charge. With Finchley in deep trouble, Josh Frey, 15, continued the good work, taking 2-10 as LMV ran out winners by a crushing 128-run margin.

A century from Mark Landau could not stop MAL from going down to a two-wicket defeat in a friendly against Edmonton. Avishai Kestenbaum and Landau added 49 in eight overs for the third wicket.
