Jesse Levine moved into the second round of the Men's Singles after opponent Guido Pella was forced to retire in a five-set thriller on Court Seven on Tuesday.

Levine of America stormed into a two-set lead with some booming shots putting him in a strong position.

But Pella of Argentina fought back to win the next two sets, only for a leg injury to end his chances.

Levine won 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, 4-3 (retired) and will line up against eighth seed Juan Martin Del Potro in the second round.
