League chairman David Wolff is predicting big things from Maccabi League teams in the non-Jewish cups this season.

He said: “I’m very pleased that we have a second team — North West Neasden A — in the Sunday FA Cup. I’m looking for them and London Maccabi Lions A to progress.

“I’m also delighted to see both sides in the London Sunday Challenge Cup and expect Neasden to go all the way this time. I hope to see several teams, that have entered the County Cup, make their mark.”

With 55 teams entering the league this season, Wolff welcomed new Referee’s Secretary Martin Fox to the committee. Reminding clubs about their conduct, Wolff said: “Players must not give officials a difficult time. They must comply with the rules of the game.”

He is predicting “a hard season with high holydays and the weather meaning that the league needs the co-operation of all teams”.
