Alex Ullmann has urged his Leeds side to bounce back following their nightmare derby defeat by Hyde Park.
Having held reigning champions Manchester Maccabi 3rd to a creditable 1-1 draw a fortnight ago, Leeds produced a dismal display and were smashed for six as Rovers ran riot.
Leeds have now conceded 29 goals in five games and still without a win this season but Ullmann is confident his boys can turn their season around against South Manchester 2nd on Sunday.
“Last week against Hyde Park was so disappointing, especially after we played so well against Manchester Maccabi.
“We were in the game at half-time but something happened at the break and it all went wrong.
“Don’t get me wrong, Hyde Park were strong, athletic and excellent on the ball and deserved their win.
“But hopefully we can put a better performance in this week and get that elusive win.”
South Manchester smashed eight past Leeds without reply back in September but Ullmann is confident there won’t be a repeat this time around.
“We’re a better team now and we’ve lots of players to choose from,” he added.
“The lads are really excited for this game because we’re all desperate to show them how much we’ve improved.
“I’m desperate to get that win and the sooner the better.”
South Manchester are facing a goalkeeping crisis with boss Neil Collins still unsure who will replace the injured Gary Stewart.
Striker Jack Lee is also out for two more weeks with a back injury and Collins could be forced into playing a second consecutive game for the first time in five years.
“We’re not going to have as strong a side as we did last time when we played Leeds,” admitted Collins.
“We have a lot of injuries and we might have to put a central defender in goal and put me in the side.
“Leeds have obviously improved a lot since our last meeting so we’re expecting a difficult game.”
