Viner's England dream comes true

Hannah Viner, 22, will represent England for the first time when she takes part in a 10K international road race in Rennes, France, on Sunday.

“It was always my goal to run for England, so I’m over the moon to have been selected,” said Viner, currently top of the England rankings for the 10K in her age category.

“Last year was my real breakthrough season, because that’s when I really started to run to the sort of standard where I felt I needed to be in order to compete at a higher level.

"This season I ran personal bests in all my events, from the 800m right up to the 10K. My next target is to run for Team GB at the European U23 cross-country championships in Holland in December.”

London Heathside’s Sara Black completed the Chicago marathon in 3:16.48, only three weeks after setting a PB in the Berlin marathon.
