Arsenal director and shareholder Danny Fiszman has died at the age of 66.
Mr Fiszman, a director of the club for almost 20 years and a key force behind the club's move to the Emirates Stadium, had been ill from throat cancer for some time.
His death comes just days after he sold his remaining Arsenal shares – a total of 16.11 per cent – to American businessman Stan Kroenke.
A diamond dealer, in 2009 Mr Fizman was ranked 30 on a football rich list with an estimated £225 million fortune. Born in Willesden, his parents fled to Britain from Belgium during the Holocaust.
In 2007 he moved to live in Geneva with his wife Sally.
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood said the club would be "forever be indebted to Danny for his invaluable foresight and contribution during the move from Highbury".
He added: "We are all deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend Danny. His voice, wisdom and presence around the football club he so dearly loved will be sorely missed."
