A fine all-round display from Adam Brand saw London Maccabi Vale 1st cruise to an eight-wicket win against Middlesex Premier League side Eastcote.

Tight bowling from Andrew Daniels and captain Jon Galloway helped LMV restrict an Eastcote team featuring two Saturday 1st XI players to 199-3. Brand chipped in with two wickets including a caught and bowled. Daniels returned to pick up a wicket with Jacob Holden and Alex Gold unlucky to finish wicketless.

LMV’s reply got off to a poor start as they lost Paul Durban with just 18 on the board. This brought Brand to the crease and he slowly built up a strong partnership with Daniel Cole. Both batsmen reached their half centuries quickly as Brand accelerated the scoring with a number of well-struck shots, including three sixes. He departed for 103 with the score on 197, just three short of victory, having shared one of the club’s highest second wicket partnerships of 179 with Cole in just 24 overs. Victory soon followed as Cole fittingly hit the winning runs as LMV ran out winners by eight wickets and with over seven overs to spare.

Belmont & Edgware 1st cruised to a six-wicket success over Winchmore Hill. Captain Richie Wienburg and Neil Myeroff grabbed three wickets apiece as BECC restricted their hosts to 58. Bronson Ritterman, Saul Weitzman and Richie Reggel were also among the wickets.
