Laurence Thorne believes the future of Jewish football looks bright following what he described as “another positive season” in the Maccabi Junior Football League.
The MJFL drew to a close at the end-of-season awards ceremony in Edgware with 350 players and families in attendance.
Thorne presented teams from under seven to under-11 with medals and trophies from the Challenge Cup, Minor Cup and mystery tournament.
League chairman Laurence Thorne said: “As we move towards a new season, we have almost reached full capacity in regard to team entries and we will again have all our age groups battling it out on state of the art surfaces, played under the auspice of the FA, but a friendly nature.
"Although we’re unable to offer competitive league football for the ages we cater for, we will still be providing all players with the opportunity to enter competitive cup competitions together some exciting and innovative tournaments.
"We have a fantastic product here, catering for the community, and with a new club coming on board next season, shows the league is going from strength to strength and may need to consider looking at a third venue in future seasons."
