When South Manchester 2nd team lined up against the 3rd team this week, there were no fewer than four father-son combinations on the field.
South has family values at its core, dating back over 65 years to the days of the Abadi family, the Collinses and of course the Davises.
Fast forward to today, the Magids, the Gordons, the Hamburgers all proudly stepped out on the field with their boys. Raising the bar further were the Hermans, who were represented by three, Keith, Max and Eddy with clubman Danny Herman on the sidelines supporting.
Veteran Keith Herman said, "It's what every father dreams of, playing with his kids. It's even worth the aches and pains I now feel Monday morning... and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for that matter!"
South Manchester Chairman Johnny Davis comments, "We have always been a family club and it's great to see this tradition continue.
"This year we have enough players to re-introduce a 3rd team which we are really pleased with and our juniors continue to do well in their respective leagues - it's a good time to be at South Manchester."
South Manchester 3rd team actually ran out winners on the day with a 3-2 victory.
