Ray Tammam's brave innings failed to prevent Manchester Maccabi from falling to defeat against Stretford Friends in the Greater Manchester Amateur League.

During a rain-affected game, Tammam took three wickets and hit a classy 34 but Maccabi still slumped to a 69-run loss against an in-form Stretford.

In a reduced overs contest, nine-man Maccabi restricted their hosts to 163 all-out following some impressive bowling from Stuart Simpson, Josh Danski and Mark Levington.

Maccabi earned maximum bowling points following an outstanding performance in the field with wicket-keeper Stuart Stevens and the ever-alert Mark Smaje both taking smart catches.
