In what was a fast-paced and surprisingly physical game, some strong early challenges and reactions saw the referee's patience tested, but referee Jon Feenstra managed to keep a lid on things. Indeed, Masters joint-manager Danny Jacobs said after the game: "He was as good as any player. He somehow kept a lid on things and it's too his credit that it remained 11 against 11 throughout.

Redbridge impressed Jacobs, who described them as "a very impressive side - they combine some solid, experienced players with great pace and flair in their younger guys. A right winger particularly impressed as did Sam Vangelder and Danny Sugarman, while Adam Hakimi led them very well."
