Mike Bloomberg insists Haroldeans are “ready for their biggest game in living memory” ahead of their semi-final showdown at home to Maccabi Manchester 2nd on Sunday.
A comfortable 3-0 victory over Redbridge sealed an away tie at the competition outsiders, courtesy of first-half strikes from Max Barnett. Zak Goldsmith and leading scorer Adam Shiffman.
Haroldeans boss Mike Bloomberg commented: “It was an excellent performance all round, especially as we played the second half with 10 men after Maxim Green was sent off for retaliation.”
Maccabi joint-manager Stuart Delmonte predicts “a good battle in a tie where one goal could settle it”.
He believes the absence of the suspended Green will benefit Maccabi, “who have never gone beyond the last eight in the National cup competition”.
Looking ahead to the game, Delmonte said: “We’ve already broken all records, with a very young and fit team and are looking forward to the big occasion.
“We know it will be a big test as Haroldeans are very strong, with two powerful centre-halves, the excellent Paul Harris in midfield and Shiffman is very quick up top.”

PETER MORRISON TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL
MACCABI MANCHESTER 1ST vs MACCABI LONDON LIONS WHITE
The JC cameras will be out in force to see the mouth-watering clash between the Chesman League leaders and the holders of the Cyril Anekstein Cup.
Manchester are flying this season – still in contention for the Division One title. Louie Basso continued his excellent run of form with another goal, but manager Scott McGarvery is keen to see his star CAM hit the back of a net on a more regular basis. He believes he’s capable of more.
The hosts have enjoyed a smooth route into the last eight – keeping clean sheets against Leeds Maccabi (2-0) and the Maccabi Masters (9-0).
Ahead of kick-off, McGarvery, the former Manchester United striker (what they could do with him right now ;)) told JC Sport: “I don’t know much about Lions, but I expect them to have a lot of talented players.
“Hopefully we can perform to our level. If I’ve got my best 15/16 players available we’re as good as anyone.”
The Lions have moved quietly up to third in the MGBSFL Premier Division. But I expect them to draft in some additional players to beef up the squad – although this could prove harder than expected given the travel demands.
The club’s Saturday team has an away match at Broxbourne Borough this weekend, followed by the Herts FA Centenary Trophy final against Baldock Town on Tuesday, so it’s a big ask to get some of the big names up north.
I expect a largely youthful looking squad to travel and can see Manchester’s physicality being a key factor and home advantage will play a part as they progress.

BARRY GOLDSTEIN TROPHY SEMI-FINALS
TEMPLE FORTUNE vs FC TEAM
I make competition holders FC Team slight favourites to secure a place in the final. Why? Because their players have been playing together week in, week out over the course of the season. And done so to a good level.
However, player-manager Mitch Young, who is in excellent goal-scoring form, is taking nothing for granted.
He told JC Sport: “We’ve not had the best preparations with so many influential players missing this week in what is our most important game of the season.
“However, we can get a team out and will compete to the best of our abilities. We know what is at stake and want to retain our trophy so will be up for the fight.
“We are expecting a strong Fortune side and so on the day it will come down to the finer margins.”
Simon Linden takes a committed team drawn from the MGBSFL squad to SJP for this much-anticipated semi-final against a strong FC Team side, who knocked the Fortune A out of the Cyril Anekstein Cup earlier in the season.
Linden knows anything can happen in cup football and any kind of victory for Fortune could save what has been a miserable season by reaching the BGT final for the first time since 2005.
Ahead of kick-off, Linden told JC Sport: "It’s a big game, one in which I'm more than happy to go in as underdogs and give it our all against a very experienced FC Team side, I know it will be a tough game.
"Everyone is looking forward to it, it’s been a tough campaign and a real struggle so to have the opportunity to play in a semi final is great."
It will be a tough ask for Fortune but Linden will be keen to bring the best out of his side – this is the 'big one' he dearly wants to win.
JC team news: Fortune are missing quite a few key players, including key player Brett Stead. They welcome back the returning Conor Brand and Daniel Vandermolen.
FC Team will be missing a number of key players including, Danny Moss who suffered ACL injury last time out. Young told JC Sport: “We wish him a speedy recovery.”

FAITHFOLD B vs NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C
Raiders C have picked up four wins on their travels this season, and I believe they hold all the aces ahead of their showdown against Division Two rivals Faithfold B.
L’Orange have earned respective 3-2 and 8-0 victories over the Superhoops in the league this season, and are highly-fancied to secure their passage into the final, even though they have conceded 15 goals in their last three outings. But I expect boss Sam Rose to reinforce in the key positions, meaning a solid spine.
Rose told JC Sport: “We played Faithfold last year in the invitational cup semi-final and I’ll be looking for a similar result and performance this year too.
“3-5-2 has served us well in the last few games and helped us play front-foot-football and we will be looking to do the same straight away on Sunday.
“I expect the boys to go out there and play for their place in the final.”
Faithfold have been goal-shy this season but gaffer David Garson hopes to retain the services of Gav Lewis and David Prager, goal-scorers in the 7-2 mauling at the hands of Real last weekend.
Ahead of kick-off, Garson told JC Sport: "We will take 16 this week as everyone is keen. I'm hoping for a bit of magic in the cup."
But I can see Raiders pushing Faithfold back from the start and they will have too much for them on the day.

HENDON UNITED SPORTS vs OAKWOOD A
After a late rejig, Hendon United will look to secure the title against defending champions Oakwood. The Reds were originally due to play Redbridge, but they were unable to raise a team this week, so well done to everyone involved in ensuring the title race will be decided on the pitch.
Greg Corin's Hendon have "a very strong squad available, with a number of injured players, including Avi Korman and Simon Peterman, now back fighting for a place in the team".
Back-to-back wins over Camden Park mean Hendon have one hand on the title. A draw could be enough, but Corin and co will want to clinch the title in style, with three points the name of the game.
He told JC Sport; "With so many quality players available this week, and such a big game ahead with a title-winning opportunity, it will be hard as player-manager to make decisions on the starting XI. But we will need all of our squad pulling in the same direction, and hopefully I can pick the right team and make the correct tactical and personnel changes during the game.
"We hope we can seal the Premier Division title this week. We need a draw at the very least, but we know it's not going to be an easy task. However, the opportunity to win the league is in our hands, so we need to do everything we can to try and win it on Sunday.
"My minimum expectation is maximum effort and matched with the player's quality, hopefully it will be enough to get a positive result."
And following the late reshuffle of opponent, Corin commented: "In the spirit of what the league is all about, Hendon have agreed to the proposed fixture change from Redbridge to Oakwood at the last minute.
"We intend to try and get the positive result on Sunday against Oakwood so we can win the league in the right way.
"With the league committee meeting not being until next week, it's better to play Oakwood prior to receiving the committee meeting decision.
"Hopefully, the outcome of the committee decision will end up being irrelevant to the outcome of winning the league title."
Sunday is a must-win for Oakwood. Simple as that. Dan Kristall knows it, Dave Cohen knows it and Adam Levine knows it. They start the game five points behind Hendon, with just one game remaining after Sunday, and an inferior goal difference.
I was at the first meeting between the teams this season in November, which Hendon won 2-1, without Dovi Fehler and Seitler. There is usually very little to separate these teams, who always produced high-quality affairs.
Ahead of kick-off, Oaks joint-manager Dan Kristall told JC Sport: "We are rounding up as many players as we can in the short period to play the game. We feel that for the integrity of the league the title should be won on the pitch.
"Credit to Hendon because they didn't need to take the game and lots of teams wouldn't given that the title was mathematically handed to them earlier in the week.
"We see the game as good preparation for the cup final in a fortnight and want to put last week's defeat behind us. We will use the squad on Sunday."
Hendon are unbeaten at home. Oakwood are unbeaten away. So something must given on super Sunday. One would think. Don't be surprised if it's a moment of magic from one of Seitler, Zack Lewis or Fehler. But don't go writing Oakwood off just yet, as they never know when they are beaten. And they will be hurting from the defeat against Lions Blue last week.
JC team news: Ari Last and Ari Nevies return to the Hendon squad, while the "fantastically talented" Moses Seitler "has made himself available".
Sam Cantor will face a fitness test. The Oakwood striker has not played since February. Josh Cuby is out and is racing against the clock to be fit for the final. Ben Peppi is available, while Lee Warner and Alex Lee are sidelined.

BRADY MACCABI vs CAMDEN PARK
There have been several positives for the Camden Park management to take out of the two recent meetings with champions-elect Hendon United.
Captain marvel Johann Jordi played out of his skin in last week’s 3-2 defeat, and they look a very different group with several regulars returning for the run-in.
Camden's Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "As I have said throughout the season, we can compete with any team when we have a strong squad available, as we have shown in the last two games against Hendon where in both games we were very unlucky to lose both games.
"I know both Max and Jake Saunders are both available, which will be a big plus for the squad."
The Camden team will be on a revenge mission following their 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Brady on the opening weekend of the season. That man Reiss Mogilner (3) was the chief tormentor that day.
Brady have fallen away over the second half of the season and boss Joel Nathan is determined to ensure they finish on a positive note.
“We are looking to finish our season on a high against Camden as this season has been very frustrating,” Nathan told JC Sport.
“We started brilliantly but 2018 has been a disaster and we have let ourselves down.
“Unfortunately we don’t have a full squad to choose from but we will have a team and make sure we give Camden a proper match.”
Stirling Kay beamed “The spirit of Camden is back” after last week’s thriller against Hendon. And I’m backing them to come away with maximum points this time.

Los Blancos go in search of their sixth league win of the season as they look to preserve the three-point gap on Redbridge B.
Neither team is in particularly great form, which probably reflects why there is still plenty of tickets available for the game.
That said, the first meeting was a thrilling affair, with Simon Moses the star man in a 3-2 Blancos win.
And with home advantage, my money is on the Blancos boys doing the business.

BAYERN MINCHA vs FAIRLOP FC
There won’t be an empty seat in the house for the clash of two of the division’s juggernauts, as Bayern Mincha look to secure the title.
The goals of Adam Ellis have been a consistent feature in an outstanding first season in the MGBSFL, even if Harry Kane tried to nick a couple earlier this week ;)
Ellis has accounted for more than half Bayern’s goals this season and will be looking to cement his position at the top of the goal charts in his last outing.
“Sunday against Fairlop represents our last game of the season, and what a game it is! Arguably one of the biggest in Division Two history,” Bayern joint-manager Alon Pinhas told JC Sport.
“If we beat Fairlop, we guarantee ourselves the title on the final day of the season, whilst if they beat us, they most likely go on to win the title themselves. So it’s effectively a play-off for the league.
“We go into the game with little pressure as even defeat would still see us promoted, with Hertswood Vale doing us a big favour taking four points off Dons over the last two weeks, meaning Dons now can’t mathematically catch us.”
But Pinhas, who manages the team alongside Daniel Holder, is under no illusion as to just how tough it will be against their fellow new boys.
“We are fully aware of our underdog status going into the game and we have a game plan similar to the way we approached the Lions and Brady games in the cups.
“Fairlop are a Premier Division standard side, with quality all over the pitch and in Daniel Garfinkle, they possess arguably the fastest player in Jewish football.
“Nevertheless, on our day we can be a match for any side in any league as we have proved this season, and we will be giving everything we have to try clinch the title.
“We are expecting huge numbers in attendance for this one from our side, while Fairlop have also confirmed they are bringing a big following.”
The Fairlop boys are ready for what promises to be a high-octane affair. The east Londoners still have six games remaining, but the next one is the most important.
Boss Aaron Dias told JC Sport: “We have had some big games so far this season, but this one is the biggest, all the players know what is at stake, with a loss meaning Bayern Mincha win the league.
“It’s a huge game for us and we can't wait to get stuck in. Fair play to Bayern Mincha, they have been good, but we've already beaten them 4-0 this season and I think we will simply have too much quality for them on Sunday.
“In my eyes, if we win or draw on Sunday, we've all but a Wenger-style collapse secured the title.”
The battle of the hotshots – Ellis and Garfinkle – will be worth the admission fee alone. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment for a match that really ticks all the boxes.

CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI vs HERTSWOOD VALE
Jacob Emanuel and Danny Hirschberger must be wondering what they have to do to win the coveted JC Manager of the Week award.
Two fantastic performances and one win in back-to-back games against high-flying Mill Hill Dons failed to woo the judging panel, but they will be delighted by the levels their players have reached in recent weeks. It’s nothing personal, lads. We’re family after all, aren’t we Danny ;)
Vale don’t want the season to end. They have fire in their bellies and are suddenly firing on all cylinder (Ed. must’ve been something in the matzah!!!)
Ahead of the trip to Catford (well Borehamwood actually), joint-manager Emanuel told JC Sport: “We have two games remaining and we want nothing less than six points.
“Things are going well and we're on good form, but we're not going to get complacent against one of our rivals for fifth spot.
“Having said that, there will be an air of revenge about this game, having been spanked 6-0 by Jeff's team much earlier in the season ... many things have changed since that day, in particular our availability list, but we'll be looking to get our own back nonetheless.
“Josh Cohen, in particular, will be looking to add to his tally for the season after eclipsing last season's tally of 14 with his successful penalty against the Dons last Sunday.”
Catford boss Jeff Gotch will be glad to see the back of season 2017/18. I just hope it’s not his last in the MGBSFL.
Meadow Park has been anything but a fortress, but scoring goals has been the biggest of late – with the Cats failing to register in the last 450 minutes.
Looking ahead to the game, Gotch told JC Sport: “It feels like an age since we last played and to be honest, nothing has really changed. We’re struggling to get players as per usual but we will be there and hope we can pick up some points.
“Hertswood clearly are on the up and we are massively on the down so lets see if we can surprise with a positive result.”
Momentum is everything in football. Vale’s tails are up and I can only see one winner.
