HAROLDEANS vs REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A
Haroldeans – the pride of Merseyside in Jewish footballing terms – hope home advantage is key when they host Redbridge Jewish Care in an afternoon kick-off.
The original tie was postponed due to the snow, but with a trip to Manchester Maccabi 2nd awaiting the winners in the last four, it’s a case of he who dares wins.
Haroldeans are enjoying a strong season in the MJSL, currently sitting in second place and talisman Adam Shiffman is in top form on the goal front.
Zack Goldsmith joined Shiffman on the scoresheet in the thrilling 3-3 draw against South Manchester – their 11th consecutive Maccabi match without defeat.
Maxim Green was their match-winner against Los Blancos in the previous round, but Mike Bloomberg and co know this is likely to be their biggest test of the season.
Steve Summers produced another master-class in RJC’s 2-2 draw against Lions White. He is one of the top ‘back-to-goal’ strikers in Jewish football, and his experience and big-match temperament will be key as the east Londoners attempt to reach the last four, in what is their last remaining chance of silverware this season.
Goalkeeper Dan Lee, captain Danny Berg and the Hakimi brothers are other important figures, while home fans won’t need long to see the quality of the Sollosi brothers. On their day they are simply unstoppable.
Redbridge will be wary of heavy legs playing a part in the latter stages, especially after the long schlep up north.
I can see this tie being evenly balanced, with a moment of magic from one of the Sollosi boys taking the Essex giants through.

HENDON UNITED SPORTS vs CAMDEN PARK
The maths are simple from here. Win their last three games and Hendon United will be crowned champions.
Greg Corin’s troops were made to sweat against Camden last time out, but they showed great powers of recovery to earn a 3-1 triumph, with Zac Lewis and Rocky Spitzer finding the net. Captain marvel Ari Last recovered from a rare blip to lead the Hendon ship to their ninth victory in 11 matches.
Hendon have responded well since the 3-0 defeat against Raiders. Four victories have put them within touching distance of the title, with league games at home to Redbridge and title rivals Oakwood to follow, before the big Anekstein Cup final.
Camden will be looking to do what no team have done to Hendon this season – claim an away win. Hadley FC is a fortress – the dimensions suit the red men perfectly and Corin usually has a Plan B on the bench.
Corin spoke highly of Camden after the last game but I expect Hendon to put them away with minimal fuss second time around.

OAKWOOD A vs MACCABI LONDON LIONS BLUE
Oakwood are staying calm ahead of the potential title-decider against Hendon on April 22 – a week before the eagerly awaited League Cup final.
Dan Kristall told me the 5-0 demolition of Brady was “arguably their finest performance of the season”. The mighty Oaks really turned on the style, with striker Leor Sidle back amongst the goals. David Woolman and Kyle Bentwood also chipped in and with a couple of key figures returning for the run-in, the signs look good.
That they haven’t conceded for more than 270 minutes tells me they are peaking at just the right time – and Kristall loves it when a plan comes together ;)
But there’s no doubt that Lions Blue will give them a game. Edged out of the Morrison in Manchester, Sam Marchant’s boys gave Oakwood a great game in January – losing 3-2 – and they will be determined to prove a point and show they are a top three team, just as the table is currently showing.
The Lions have nothing to lose in their last game of the season, and although they will huff and puff and ask some questions, I think Oakwood will edge it on the day.

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B vs OAKWOOD B
With a top two finish a distant memory, Oakwood’s powers of recovery will be put to the test when they make the long journey east to take on Redbridge.
Despite Jason Stein’s best-laid plans, Oakwood had no answer to a merciless Faithfold team who were determined to ensure nothing dampened the mood at their title party.
Third place is now the very least Stein expects, although they will need to be on their guard against a Redbridge team that have lost five out of six at home.
Redbridge were hit for six by Raiders, but it wasn’t until the second half they were picked apart. It was certainly a far cry from their brilliant 5-0 rampage of the champion the previous match.
A big crowd is expected ahead of what is Redbridge’s last home game of the season. Dan Gordon has scored in his last two outings and he fired a hat-trick against Oakwood when the teams drew 3-3 in November.
Much depends on Oakwood’s attitude. Stein won’t allow them to feel sorry for themselves and they must focus only on the next 90 minutes.

Blancos still have four matches remaining and a top three finish is the target.
Their form has been inconsistent since the turn of the year and I believe half of the squad are playing for places next season.
Redbridge are still battling to climb the table. Meeting Blancos for the first time this season, they know their home form hasn’t been good enough and that has to be the message before kick-off.
Looking through the squads, there’s plenty of talent to guarantee an open and entertaining affair. And the tussle between Jerome Marks and Oli Sade will be worth the admission fee alone.

FC TEAM vs STRAW HAT PIRATES
FC Team are odds-on completing a league double over a Pirates side they beat 5-3 in January.
Mitch Young has earned most of the plaudits in the goals department this season, but it was Jon Breger and Richard Sternberg who tormented the Pirates’ defence that day.
They go into the game on the back of two excellent performances, culminating in the place in the last four of the Barry Goldstein Trophy. And with a draw against Temple Fortune, it wouldn’t surprise me if Young has booked an appointment at the tailor to get fitted up for cup final suits.
The Pirates can’t buy a win at the moment. Five consecutive defeats have seen them go into freefall … and this game is arguably the last thing they need right now.

MILL HILL DONS vs HERTSWOOD VALE
Mill Hill Dons have three cup finals remaining. Simply as that. They were left deflated by a late goal in the 3-3 draw against Vale – having come from 0-2 down.
I expect the Dons to come out of the traps like wounded animals. They will be looking to start fast and go for the jugular from the very first whistle. Will Vale be ready for them? That’s the million dollar question.
Dons boss Brandon Hamme was irked by his team’s defending for all three goals and admitted they had “shot themselves in the foot”. But he also identified a number of positives, and that’s got to be the slant of his pre-match teamtalk.
Hamme told JC Sport: “Promotion will now be a very difficult task, but we will continue to give it our all and fight till the very end.”
Can lightning strike twice. That’s what Vale managers Jacob Emanuel and Danny Hirschberger will be hoping. Josh Cohen played like a man possessed, while I’ve heard rumours Jack Shulman is still claiming the equalising goal.
Any other week, that performance would’ve seen messus Emanuel and Hirschberger win JC Manager of the Week. But if they do the business again, they’ll be hard to ignore.

REAL HENDON vs FAITHFOLD B
Finishing in the top five has to be the priority for a Real Hendon team in decent form.
The Barry Goldstein Trophy was their one and only hope of silverware this season, but that horse bolted after they tumbled out against Temple Fortune on penalties.
Scoring goals will never be an issue for this Real team, who adopt a refreshing approach, week in, week out. And having put five past the Superhoops earlier in the season, they will be confident of coming away with maximum points.
The BGT has given Faithfold the lift they needed. They can now look forward to the forthcoming semi-final against Raiders C and it’s important they maintain their good habits.
Faithfold have been decent on the road this season, but I can see the next 90 minutes being tough for them.

TEMPLE FORTUNE B vs FAIRLOP FC
Fairlop are one of the league’s form teams – with eight consecutive victories under their belts. It’s no surprise Bayern Mincha, Mill Hill Dons and FC Team are looking over their shoulders.
Aaron Dias’s men have been blowing their rivals away in merciless fashion – and with all three of the aforementioned coming up, they will be looking to blow Fortune away with minimal fuss.
Now is the time I can see Daniel Garfinkle going into overdrive. I fancy him to score a hat-trick, and captain Brad Gayer and Daniel Bean to pull the strings. James Jaconelli should also have a profitable morning.
But spare a thought for Fortune. Crushed 7-0 by the east Londoners last Chanukah, they have won just once in front of their fans all season. And the next 90 minutes could feel very long indeed. Damage limitation is their best bet.
