Hendon cruised into the next round of the Peter Morrison Cup with a resounding win over Division Three rivals KS Reunited.
The home side took the initiative straight from the kick off, but were made to wait until the half hour mark to take the lead, though the goal was worth waiting for. Benni Sluckis, making his first start of the season cut in from the right and unleashed an unstoppable left foot drive into the far bottom corner.
However, Sluckis' Goal Of The Week hope didn't last for long. Early in the second half half, there didn't seem much on as a loose ball dropped to Avi Mocton 35 yards out from goal so he decided to try his luck. On the bounce, and first time he creamed a shot as clean as you could possibly wish for which flew past the KS keeper before he even had a chance to move.
Gab Saul added a third with another beauty, curling a 25-yard free-kick into the top corner.
Sluckis bagged his second of the game, though all the credit must go to Gideon Barth who put it on a plate for him after a marauding run from right back.
And Jono Nesbitt, who had caused havoc with Barth all game down the right, got the goal he deserved with a precise lob over the keeper.
KS Reunited scored a consolation late on but Hendon ran out comfortable winners.
Hendon manager Adam Glekin told JC Sport: "I think we need a goal of the week competition just for our boys this week!
"I'm really pleased with the result today, I think we can play better but I can't be too critical after a result like that.
"I can occasionally be a little 'Neville-esque on Mignolet' harsh with my criticism of Chaim Strom, so it's only fair to give him some praise as he was outstanding today playing out of position at centre back.
"Gideon Barth and Jono Nesbitt were tremendous down the right hand side, and Benni Sluckis was excellent and almost came away with the match ball."
