Dudi Sela has justified his decision not to play at the US Open by winning the Bangkok Challenger.

The Israeli Davis Cup star, who is 27 and from Kiryat Shmona, is set return to the top 100 after defeating Yuichi Sugita of Japan 6-1, 7-5, his 13th success on the Challenger tour.

Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich were eliminated from the US Open at the second round stage of the Men’s Doubles.
They were beaten 6-4, 6-4 by American pairing Christian Harrison and Ryan Harrison.

Shahar Peer will sit out the rest of the season due to a leg injury. She has lost in the first round of her last six tournaments.
