Styal Souths registered a five-wicket success over Salford in the GMACL.
On a glorious day at Cheetham Hill CC, Salford won the toss and elected the bat in the Division Three contest.
They must have been ruing the decision as wickets started to tumble at regular intervals. Andy Daniels started the ball rolling with a typical economical spell and picked up four wickets.
Dan Glicher chipped in with one and Salford were in trouble.
Only one of their batsmen managed double figures but went on to make a fine 84 before being trapped in front by Mo Iqbal.
Dan Franks contributed with one wicket and Huddy Lieberman on his return, simply scared the life out of some of the Salford batsmen with his searing pace. They ended up on 154 all out before Styal took to the field.
Imran Yousaf, despite tuning up late, showed he was in a hurry hitting a quick fire 30 including two enormous sixes. Ben Pickles chipped in with 28 and Lieberman looked menacing before being trapped lbw for 17.
It was left to Iqbal with an unbeaten 43 and Huddy Lieberman to see Styal home with five wickets to spare.
