Motti Iwanir, manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv, believes his team can progress in the after drawing Stoke City, Besiktas and Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League group stage.

A record three Israeli teams went into the hat last week with debutants Tel Aviv drawn against English opposition for the first time in European competition.

"This is a very challenging group," said Iwanir. "Dynamo Kiev and Besiktas are experienced European teams while Stoke showed how tough they can be by reaching the FA Cup final last season. Overall I believe we can progress."

Maccabi will travel to the Britannia Stadium on October 20 and host Tony Pulis' troops in Tel Aviv on November 3. Maccabi open their campaign against Turkish side Besiktas on September 15.
