VIDA 1 SOUTH MANCHESTER SPORTS CLUB 1st 10 (TEN)
South Manchester continued their 100 per cent start to the season and surged five points clear with a 10-1 demolition of VIDA in the Manchester Accountants League Premier Division.
Whilst the opposition were somewhat limited, they had improved of late but simply had no answer to the attacking talent on display of Adam Lavin, Marc Yaffe,Toby Levy,Ben Peppi,Anton Feingold and Jack Lee.
The writing was on the wall after only five minutes when a goalkeeping error saw Yaffe open the scoring. Within 25 minutes it was 3-0 as sumptuous Levy and Yaffe crosses were headed in at the far post by Mark Collins and Loz Newman respectively.
Brilliant footwork from Lavin saw him take the half time score to 4-0.
The second half was a stroll as South completely ran riot and six goals were rattled in - three more by Lavin - now on 17 for the season, two for Anton Feingold and one for Lee who completed the scoring.
South' goal difference now stands at +36 - having scored 41 in 7 games and conceded just five.
South manager Darryl Lee said: "The only blot was a goal conceded after a defensive mix-up but it was difficult to find fault after a performance like this.
"Things looked even better when news filtered in that second placed Mace had lost.
"South can only continue to defeat the opposition put before them but there will be significantly harder tasks ahead."
