South Manchester Sports started the season in some style, running in six against a Saints team that could not cope with the variation and movement of the South attack.
The return of Harvey Kaye and Toby Levy from their year abroad plus the deadline day signing of Adam Lavin from Manchester Maccabi brings a complete set of attacking options for manager Darryl Lee.
South could have scored in the first minute after good work from another new forward Anton Feingold,found Kaye who forced a close range save from the Saints keeper.
However, only five minutes had gone when Levy dispossessed the Saints defence and raced clear to coolly slot home from 15 yards.
South then continued to dominate possession with Saints always a threat from set pieces. South continually spurned opportunities. But the second duly came one minute before half time when David Chaytow stabbed the ball home after a flurry in the Saints box.
The warm weather and superior fitness was always going to tell and in the second half an early header from Tom Cantor made the game safe after 50 minutes.
On the hour a triple substitution of Peppi, King and Lavin for Adcock, Rowe and Kaye simply increased the tempo. Peppi scored at the far post from practically his first kick, Levy got his second with a header from Peppi's cross and Lavin capped his South debut with a tap in from six yards.
South Manchester manager Darryl Lee said: "All in all a good performance but plenty of room for improvement.
"We take on reigning champions Miam Miam next week in what will be a far better measure of our abilities."
