Sollosi helps Redbridge hit six of the best

The game was a tight affair to begin with, almost cagey and both teams were enjoying half chances in front of goal.

Dan Lee in the RJC goal made a brilliant point-blank save from a cross and then the game turned Redbridge’s way.

A delicious crossfield pass from the excellent Garfinkle found the feet of Nyman and with one touch to get it under control, he sent the ball into the net with his next touch for his 14^th of the season.

Hendon were not out of it and Yehuda Korman and Roie Spitzer caught the eye. The game was still fairly even though the three Sollosi brothers were beginning to boss proceedings.

From an innocuous turn, the game was delayed by 10 minutes as Yehuda turned his ankle and it looked a bad injury as he was carried off.

Half-time came with RJC in the ascendency but only one goal to show for it.

Redbridge just needed to keep the foot on the pedal and turn their superior play into goals and sure enough, goal two came from the game’s outstanding player. The ball was bouncing around the box and Nathan Sollosi took it upon himself to take control and finish into the keepers left with a driven finish.

This goal took the stuffing out of Hendon and this was compounded by an error involving the full -ack and keeper that presented Garfinkle with an easy tap in to make it 3-0.

The game was opening up now and the best goal of the game was to come with a superb cross by Nyman met with power and precision by Nathan Sollosi with his head, a real goal of beauty.

Now was the time to bring on 'the finishers' as Eddie Jones calls his substitutes. Goal five came from a clever finish by Summers with one of his first touches of the ball and the sixth and final goal came from the man-of-the-match Nathan Sollosi who completed his hat-trick to put some real gloss on the score.

Jubilant Redbridge boss Jon Jacobs told JC Sport: "It was a real team performance from Redbridge and a marker of how this team can play when everything clicks into place.

"The Redbridge management and players would like to send their best wishes for a speedy recovery to Yehuda Korman and also to Simon Peterman after their injuries."

Hendon boss David Garbacz described the result as "one of the worst days in the recent history of the club".

He told JC Sport: "Not only did we suffer our biggest defeat in over bube years, but the sad sight of Yehuda Korman going down with what looked like a very serious injury made the day very sad and depressing. I’m not blaming anyone but in my opinion the pitch we played on was not up to standard for a game of this importance – it was too small and not up to the standard of 3Gs these days and was probably the cause of the injury. We do all appreciate the kind words of Jon though after the match in wishing him a speedy recovery."

Garbacz went on to say Nathan Sollosi was the difference between the teams. "With regards to the match itself, after an even first half where I thought we deserved to go in at least level the simple truth is that Redbridge blew us away with a scintillating second half display. I do think 6-0 was harsh on us – we did create some decent chances and their keeper produced a couple of good saves at vital times in the first half which may have changed the dynamic of the game, but the fact was that we couldn’t cope with the Sollossi’s, especially Nathan who was magnificent and they were quicker and more energetic than us in every department.

"It is true that we were decimated by injuries – we were without at least five regulars and Simon Peterman, Greg Corin and Ari Last were all nowhere near fit enough to play. However, that is still no excuse for the way we crumbled even if it was to the best team we’ve played this season by a mile. "Jon said to me towards the end that squads win titles and he was dead right – their strength in depth is different class to us and it told in style.

"We need to regroup and play out the season with some pride but when all is said and done we haven’t been good enough this year, especially in the big games."
