Having helped North West Neasden A win a hat-trick of league and cup doubles, central defender Scott Shindler has moved to pasture new after dropping down two divisions to join Temple Fortune.
Shindler believes that his winning ethic can be a key factor and help Fortune bridge the gap after they finished sixth in Division Two.
"I've won it all now and decided I wanted to experience playing in a team with my mates," Shindler said. "I also want to help Fortune to go further than they have done in recent seasons. It has not been an easy decision but I do believe it is the right one at this stage of my career."
He is confident that the move will not hinder his chances of being selected for the MSFL Rep team. Under Tony Gold in 2005, he was a member of the squad that claimed the league's only victory in the London Inter-League Cup.
Neasden's winning mentality has made them the envy of the league but Shindler warned against a mass exodus. "I can see why Neasden haven't been liked from the outside but I must say internally we are all one big family, and I'll miss all the boys there."
The defender will not miss the bright lights of the top flight. "I think not being in the spotlight will help me enjoy myself more. I've grown a bit sick of the circus that surrounds the Premier League and find many games ending in farce due to the attitude of a lot of the big shots in the division."
Meanwhile, Neasden have started planning for next season. Jonny Ellis, the double-winning captain, has stepped down. Lee Cash takes the armband with Matt Sofier appointed vice-captain. The club will once again enter the Sunday FA Cup and London FA Cup as well as the three Jewish competitions.
Daniel Fox is standing down as joint-manager leaving Jamie Cole to lead the team on his own.
Cole was unhappy that he and Fox as well as several players were overlooked at the JC MSFL awards. Cole said: "I just don't understand how the decisions are made. Unfortunately it has become a farce over the last few years. This was our most testing season as we struggled to put out a side each week yet we won the double for the third year in a row."
Cole was also shocked to find out that he had been sacked as Rep team manager via the Jewish press, after the MSFL was found guilty of fielding ineligible players in the London FA Inter-League Cup final.
Cole said: "I have been a loyal participant in Jewish football for 15 years and that is how I was treated. It's a disgrace and has made me question whether or not I want to be involved with this league."
