Gavin Sharpe is ready to hold heart to heart talks with his Sporting JLGB players following their latest defeat.
The Sporting boss has been left dejected by his side’s failure to turn their dominance into goals and is considering big changes for Sunday’s clash with South Manchester 2nd.
Moshe Hasid’s first goal for the club was the one of the few bright spots for Sporting during their 3-1 defeat against runaway league leaders Haroldeans.
Sharpe’s men were beaten 4-0 by Hyde Park last weekend and have now conceded seven goals in their past two games.
And the Sporting boss says he needs to iron out a few issues within the camp before the meeting with South Manchester 2nd at Frederick Road on Sunday.
“I’m going to have to talk to the lads at training on Thursday because we need to sort a few things out,” he said.
“I can’t say I’m disappointed with the level of performance because we’ve been dominating games but we just can’t put the ball in the net.
“I’m a bit dejected at the moment because we’ve played some great stuff but nothing seems to be going for us.
“We’re getting penalised by referees constantly and not really getting the benefit of the doubt.
“But we need to bounce back against South Manchester and we know we’re capable of doing it because we’ve done it before.”
Sporting sit fourth in the MJSL with 14 points from their nine games and Sharpe believes his side can still finish towards the top of table despite their recent poor run.
He added: “We need to make sure we get back to winning ways on Sunday and that will give us a real boost.
“We played well against Haroldeans but didn’t take our chances when they came along.
“If we can play at the same level against South Manchester then there’s no reason whatsoever that we can’t win.”
