Shahar Peer will not compete in next month's ASB Classic tournament in Auckland for the first time since she turned professional.

Peer has been the focus of disruptive anti-Israel protests in New Zealand in recent years. But her spokesman and brother, Shlomi Peer, insists that she has not been deterred by the demonstrators but now ranked 13, has outgrown the tournament and will instead begin her 2011 campaign at the Brisbane International.

Julia Glushko has won the ITF Challenger event in Traralgon, Australia.

Ranked 283 in the world, Glushko stunned top seed Jarmila Groth (42) of Australia with a straight-sets victory in the semi- finals before going on to win the final where she beat Sacha Jones of New Zealand.
