Second seed Dudi Sela failed to reach the final of Israel Open Challenger tournament in Ra'anana.
The Israeli lost 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 to third seed Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania at the semi-final stage. Berankis lost in the final of the $125,000 tournament to top seed Evegeny Donskoy of Russia.
But Sela can take consolation from moving up to 60 in the world rankings, his highest position since May 2010, and boosting his chances of qualifying for the Rio Olympics.
There was also disappointment in Ra'anana for Jonathan Erlich and his Austrian partner Philipp Oswald who lost in the men's doubles final to the Russians Konstantin Kravchuk and Denys Molchanov
