Dudi Sela is targeting a return to the top 50 in the world rankings ahead of the Australian Open, which begins on Monday.
The Israeli completed his preparations for the first grand slam of the year with a disappointing first round defeat against Santiago Giraldo at the Canberra Challenger.
But he is confident a solid week of training will ensure that he can continue to climb the ATP rankings again.
Having risen to 87 in the rankings, he said: “I also began last year around 100 and my goal is to return to the top 50.
“I didn’t play in many events last year due to illness and the birth of my daughter, so I hope to play in more tournaments and achieve my goals.”
Sela, who hopes to compete at the Rio Olympics later this year, recently reached the final of the Happy Valley Challenger in Adelaide.
Amir Weintraub bowed out against British no 5 Dan Evans 7-5 6-7 6-2 in the qualifiers.
