Dudi Sela put in a spirited performance before bowing out of the US Open – going down in down straight sets against Roger Federer.
Sela was left chasing shadows on the Ashe Stadium, succumbing 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 in 77 minutes.
“I had no chance against his serve, zero chance. "That's what's what I felt. Every point was so fast,” said Sela after his second round defeat.
"Djokovic, Murray, Nadal, they let you play. They let you play more from the baseline, even though the score can be the same. But they let you play. He didn't let me play at all."
Although the Israeli did not suffer stage-fright on the show court, he admitted that he would rather have played on one of the outside courts.
"If I was playing on Court 25, I'd have a better chance," he said.
"I'd want to play him in the parking lot. It's tough to go on Centre Court, it's a different court. Players like me come here and want to give 100 per cent, it's tough.
“When you hit the ball it's different. I can't even explain. And you are choking a little bit. You play much, more worse."
Federer said. "I just think I was superior today."
