Dudi Sela stormed into the third round of the Nottingham Open after surprising world No. 30 Joao Sousa of Portugal.

Sela, 31, was in impressive form in the first set which he won 6-3 before holding his nerve to see out the match after a second-set tie-break in a match lasting one hour and 29 minutes.

A first-round winner over Jan Hernych, Sela will meet Benjamin Becker of Germany in round three of the Wimbledon warm-up competition.

Diego Schwartzman of Argentina went down in straight sets against Ernesto Escobar in the first round.
