With captain Adam Brand and vice-captain Danny Caro currently injured and not likely to play for some time, the new cricket season is likely to be a huge challenge for London Maccabi Vale especially as they are newly-promoted to Division 1 of the Middlesex Sunday League, having gone up as champions.
The return of Andrew Daniels from working overseas will help but they are always looking to recruit the best Jewish cricketers to maintain their standards.
The second XI , having already secured their two victories this season, has a familiar feel but more colts are now pushing for regular places.
LMV's Colts section, now professionally coached and fully managed throughout, will be taking part in the Middlesex Colts Association League at four different age groups.
Whilst the club hopes to make good progress we will have to wait a little while before we are able provide all the facilities the committee believes the colts require, notably their own outdoor nets, but with finance in place the next 12 months should be very exciting.
Bank Hapoalim will be sponsor the club once again and LMV hope to arrange various events this year to bring the wider Jewish cricketing community to its Rowley Lane base.
