His straight sets third round win over Tennys Sandgren of the USA means Schwartzman has earned £163,000 after progressing through three rounds, without dropping a set.

Having beaten Robin Haase and Egor Gerasimov, Schwartzman, who is 27 and from Buenos Aires, won the opening set 6-4.

The 20th seed stepped up a gear to win the second set 6-1 before taking the third 6-3 to set up a last 16 meeting with sixth seeded Alexander Zverev of Germany.
