Schwartz fails to impress

American-born Israeli Jillian Schwartz placed 11th in the pole vault at the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul, recording a height of 4.45.

Roger Bruck, 72, won gold medals in three events at the Southern Counties Veterans Championships at Lea Valley indoor stadium. Setting an over-70 PB of 33.3 seconds for 200m, he also achieved 1.21m in the high jump and 3.56m in the long jump.

Sam Shindler-Glass, 15, came 32nd out of 255 competitors in the under-17 Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships in Birmingham. Shindler-Glass was younger than every athlete who finished ahead of him in the race.
