Sam Rosenthal believes he can achieve big things after taking over as manager of east London giants Redbridge Jewish Care A.
Rosenthal was this week confirmed as the replacement for Eilon Kennet who failed to win any silverware during two years at the helm of the Premier Division team.
An influx of players is expected at Redbridge next season, with Rosenthal bringing in some of his "big guns" from a Glenthorne United A team he guided to third in Division One last season.
"I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity," said Rosenthal. "Eilon and Danny Berg have done a great job over the years, but I look forward to bringing in some fresh ideas and getting the club back challenging at the top once again."
Rosenthal says that he will combine youth with experience to come up with a winning formula. "It’s vital we develop a squad that wants to fight together," he said.
"I will merge the young hungry guys with the more experienced members - that is vital for us to develop a style of football that is pleasing on the eye and set the bar for others to try and catch.
"As with Glenthorne over the past the few seasons, I want to develop as many young boys as possible - you can’t win anything without kids."
With Rosenthal moving to the 2011 league and cup double winners, it appears that Glenthorne will now fold.
He said: "It’s a sad state of affairs that was unavoidable really. We all need to get together and have a think about the best way to stop the exodus from Sunday football.
"We have had a few guys who are leaving altogether, but it is very much a merger of the two squads with a near 50-50 split."
With the Maccabi League title going to Hendon and Faithfold over the past two seasons, Rosenthal is confident he can steer RJC to silverware in his first season, and he says they plan to do it in style.
"It comes back to having a stable happy squad," he said. "The quality of player at the club is simply outstanding. It’s up to us how far we want to take it regardless of the other teams.
"We will look to win every competition we enter. We have some very, very exciting players so I look forward to being entertained each week."
Explaining the reason for his departure, Kennet said: "The bottom line is that the logistics are too demanding for me and the team needs someone local who can commit to week in week out.
"The team under-achieved last season and should do better with a new, but local manager at the helm."
Steve Gevertz will assist Rosenthal who hopes to see Danny Berg "involved, hopefully more in a playing capacity which will be great for the club".
RJC chairman Jon Jacobs will continue to manage the club’s B-team.
He said: "We would like to wish Sam a lot of luck and success in his new role whilst also taking this opportunity to thank Eilon Kennet for his contribution to our success over the last few seasons.
"Danny Berg has also played a pivotal role in the A-team management for the past six years. I look forward to his continued hard work and participation at RJC."
Meanwhile, Hendon United Sports Club B have also changed their management team. Joint-manager Motty Korman has stepped down. Aryeh Goldring will link up with Chaim Gothold for the first division team.
