London & Kent Borders League 0
JC MSFL Rep Team 1
A 79th-minute strike from debutant Dovid Korman, 19, saw the Maccabi League rep team finish the London Inter-League Cup competition on a high as they beat the fancied London & Kent Borders League.
Having lost their first two games, this game was someone a dead-rubber for the Maccabi boys, but despite the absence of 15 regulars, they gave a great account of themselves against one of the tournament favourites.
With Alex Levack leading a heroic defensive effort, the winner was created straight off the Hendon United training ground, with Korman latching on to an Ari Last through ball and finished coolly.
Boss Jonathan Kestenbaum said: “I am immensely proud of the achievement, delighted for the players and know how much that pride is shared across the league.”
