A fab four-goal salvo from Adam Kaye ensured that there was no upset as an excellent second half performed took Brixton through.
On a sunny and windy morning Brixton were playing for the first time in six weeks, with 18 players unavailable Brixton recalled Nigel 'the white haired giant' Conway into their starting 11, with a return to the side for Neil Burke after eight months out with injury. FC Team came into the tie full of confidence top of Division 3.
It was the hosts who started brightly chasing down a good and organised FC team side. A through ball by Joey Sellars sent Kaye racing clear after 10 minutes and he burried his shot into the bottom right-hand corner, 1-0.
Brixton were full of confidence breaking up fc team play and on the counter attack Eliiott played Kaye in again down the left-hand side by the touch line some 30 yards from goal, Kaye ghosted past his man and sent a 30-yard shot that went straight into the top corner, 2-0. A mistake by Elliott Setyon let in Team striker who finished nicely 2-1, and with practicly the last kick off the half they equalished when a free kick evaded everyone including Jimmy Jacobs, 2-2.
A dissapointed Brixton came out for the second half with the tales up and within 10 minutes were 4-2 up with two well taken goals from Kaye again claiming his third and fourth of the game. Jimmy Jacobs made an excellent save to keep Brixton in it.
Brixton attacked again and Kaye should have had a fifth but their keeper saved well to his right. Things got worse for Team when their defender brought down Kaye and was sent off being last man.
Brixton attacked again with a fiece shot by Elliott Setyon that was well saved but big brother Lee Setyon did well to get to the rebound first and finish neatly into the top corner. 5-2.
Kaye was involved again being tripped in the area letting Burkey Boy Neil take and score the penalty to the delight of his two sons Calum and Zak.
Kaye went off with 15 minutes left. He received a standing ovation and let his brother-in-law have a turn as Kaye was off to Rhino’s (Adam Diamant's) wedding.
Chairman Robert Silverman said: "It was a good team performance against a young and talented Team side. Bring on the big boys in the next round, curry anyone?"
