Reiss sends Brady B rocketing to the top

Brady created little of note except for a Josh Dagul strike that was saved by FC Team player-manager Michael Myers.

However, against the run of play and just before half time, Dagul pressed high forcing an error from the Team full back, leading to a corner. From the resulting short corner, a weaving run followed by some great composure from Reiss Mogilner put Brady level.

After an inspirational teamtalk at half time, the Brady boys came out fighting and started to take control of the game.

It was not long before Brady had taken the lead after some good work down the left hand side by captain James Joseph, who pulled it back to the tricky feet of Mogilner to coolly dispatch into the net.

Brady continued to press and create chances and almost had a third when Dagul header came off the post.

It was not long before the third goal came and it was in spectacular fashion as the ball dropped to Joseph about 30 yards out, where he unleashed a curler into the top right corner of the goal, leaving Myers with no chance.

From here it looked as if the floodgates would open and Brady would grab a few more goals, but FC Team refused to give up and came back into the game with a wonderful goal from left-winger Jamie Cooper. He knocked the ball past his man on the left wing, cut inside and unleashed a screamer on his left foot into the top corner leaving Colmans in the Brady goal just standing and admiring.

Brady responded well again and some good work from Mogilner on the left resulted in a teasing cross that was turned into his own net by the FC Team centre half, looping over a despairing Myers dive in the Team goal.

There was to be one more twist in the tale as Team were awarded a soft penalty. However, the penalty was saved by Brady new no. 1, Colmans, when a goal would have lead to a tense finish.

Brady continued to attack and regained their three-goal lead after Ben Hildebrand made a marauding run down the left before crossing for his brother, Daniel Hildebrand to slot home. Hildebrand deserved the goal for his non-stop running and after hitting the post earlier on in the game. It clinched the game for Brady and gave him his 22nd of the season.

Daniel Harrod had a chance to grab his first goal in Brady colours. He showed great skill to round the keeper, but saw his effort superbly cleared off the line by a Team defender.

Team grabbed a third goal late on with another great 20-yard strike, but it was too late to inspire a comeback.

This victory puts Brady top of the league and in a strong position to go on and win the title, but there is a long way to go yet.

Brady Interim assistant-manager Ben Wallis said: "I'm proud of the boys. Once again we started poorly, but we showed passion and spirit to fight back and win the game.

"FC Team were tough opposition, but we were patient and broke them down and got the result we wanted."
