Ricky Curtis won the coveted National Scratch Golf Competition, co-hosted by Maccabi GB and the Association of Jewish Golf Clubs & Societies.
The competition seeks to identify the top Jewish golfer in the UK together with a parallel Masters competition for the over 50’s.
Played over 36 holes at the Forest of Arden Golf Club, Curtis recorded a fine round of two-under-par (70) to lead the event overnight by three shots.
The second round on Monday saw further evidence of Curtis’ superiority over the field. The Abridge golfer extended his aggregate lead to eight shots to claim the Donald Forster Trophy.
Runner-up Joel Field of Coombe Hill took home the Harris Trophy after a card countback from Elliott Dawson of Sand Moor. Abridge’s Alfie Ezekiel won the Masters competition.
