Leeds Jewish Golf Society claimed the top prize at the Provincial competition.
They won the Gerald Tankel Trophy for the team with lowest aggregate of four net scores counting, gaining a narrow victory over Moor Allerton who secured the Joe Dwek Trophy.
Marshall Newman of Moor Allerton returned a score of 74 gross to win the Mervyn Berg Trophy.
Ian Land of Leeds Jewish Golf Society secured the Marshall Bellow Trophy for the best net with a score of 70, edging out Paul Earp by one shot, with Earp receiving the Martin Caller Trophy.
The Provincial had previously always been a tournament for the northern affiliates only, but this year the Southern Provincial was introduced for the southern affiliates.
Both tournaments were held on the same day, with Moor Allerton hosting the Provincial, while the new competition was held at Hartsbourne.
Each team, consisting of six men, was set up in handicap categories, with the aim of broadening the entry to players who would not normally have the opportunity to represent their club in serious competition.
The teams were limited to maximum of two players with a below 10 handicap and minimum of two above 15 handicap. All categories were competed for on a net basis other than the singles gross prize.
Dyrham Park secured the main prize of the day, the Hartsbourne Trophy, for the lowest aggregate of four scores counting, while Hartsbourne won collected the Abridge Trophy.
Gary Plein of J-Boks Golf Society won the singles gross with a score of 78 at the Southern Provincial, whilst Joel Citroen of Dyrham Park overcame Abridge’s Barry Brett by five shots following an excellent net score of 63.
