Perkins breaks Brady hearts

The warning signs were there for Brady when Faithfold again hit the woodwork a few moments later.

Then Brady came to life and Josh Hershman flew down the flank, to cut the ball back to Lee Platt who saw his shot saved well by keeper Ben Law.

Brady were getting a foothold in the game, and Josh Gordon rose well to meet a Hershman corner, only for his header to drift inches over the cross-bar.

The midfield battle was intriguing as Faithfold stalwart Alex Levack was up against the youthful Zak Presky, Lee Platt and Josh Gordon, with tackles flying in and the game threatening at times to boil over.

Colmans was called into action late on in the first half showing Cech-like reflexes to save a Levack free-kick.

Faithfold had shouts for a penalty turned down and the half finished goalless.

Brady improved in the second half, and were getting a lot of joy down the left flank with Hershman putting the full back consistently on the back foot.

Striker Jon Green went close, when he spun and shot, only to see his shot fly wide, with Law routed to the spot.

The decisive moment came when Jon Ellis was harshly adjudged to have given away a free kick. From the set-piece, Perkins thumped the ball into the bottom corner.

Brady pushed on after the goal and came close through both Hershman and Gordon, however Faithfold held onto take all three points.

Once again a lot of positives for Josh Rosenfeld to take out of the game with his young newly assembled team again getting unlucky to lose to one of the MSFL’s great clubs.

Faithfold manager Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "We played a strong youthful Brady team who came to battle.

"We had to work hard in the heat but were disciplined and kept patient and got our rewards didn't have our shooting boots on this week but had our defensive hats on.

"I was impressed with Brady today and like the team Josh has put together but felt we deserved our win today."
