MAL suffered a second consecutive defeat as a severely weakened team took on Old Parkonians in Ilford.
Three debutantes again showed that there is depth out there, but it wasn't to be on a hard batting track with lightning-quick outfield.
MAL skipper Mark Landau won the toss and inserted the opposition, who came out in positive mood from the off, though surviving the odd scare.
Mark Landau and Yanky Baddiel bowled decent opening spells but were finding it difficult to stem the flow of runs. Slow bowlers Avi Gelley and guest Richard Mitchell managed to slow things down going for just 33 and 32 off their 7 overs respectively, both picking up a wicket.
Without a recognised fifth bowler, those 7 overs went for 75, and some more brutal hitting towards the end of the innings saw Old Parkonians reach 260 off 35 overs.
With almost 7.5 an over needed MAL needed a good start, and they were given just that as Mark Landau and Avi Gelleywere aggressive from the off.
They put on an enterprising stand of 75 in 11 overs before Gelley was bowled for 33. Landau soon brought up his 50 with a towering 6 down the ground.
His dismissal for 57 left MAL struggling 3 down with still 150 needed. Down the order some good shots were played, particularly by Richard Mitchell in his 22, but MAL were always struggling to get near their target and were eventually bowled out for 190, some 70 runs short.
