Daniel Rabinowitz says the MJSL title is now Oakhill Lions' to lose.
The students opened a five-point gap at the top following their 2-0 win in the top-of-the-table showdown against Leeds Maccabi.
Oakhill faced an uphill battle moments after the break once Jake Kelly was red carded for lashing out in retiliation to a late tackle.
But the setback over appeared to inspire the students to stun the hosts in Yorkshire.
Aryeh Barron and Moses Seitler netted in the second-half to seal a win that took Oakhill a giant stride towards glory.
Oakhill boss Rabinowtiz said: "This was a very tough game and we had to play exceptionally well to win it.
Leeds are a strong side but we never gave up and that saw us home. I've never seen my players so focused and up for the job.
"We knew it was a big game and at times we had to dig deep. Our stand-in goalkeeper Sam Franks was outstanding and we defended superbly. You only have to see their goals scored to see the firepower that they possess.
"It's in our hands now and we can't ask more that. It really is now our championship to lose.
Leeds could still have a say at defending their crown with the return game at Frederick Road still to come.
But Oakhill are in the box-seat. With six games to go, they are in pole position for the first time this season with their fate now in their own hands.
Rabinowitz added: "We have played against every team now we know who is capable of what. It would be foolish to think it's all over. We slipped up against Haroldeans and we know Leeds will be waiting for us to do that again.
"It's important that we regain our focus and treat every game on its merits. If you look too far head or become too confident, you can produce a poor performance when you least expect it. So there's little room for error with another huge game to come against Leeds."
