Republic of Flixton continued their stunning start to the season by crushing Oakhill Lions in the opening round of the Harold Feldman Trophy.

The Manchester students had hoped to pull off a huge shock but were given short shrift as Republic cruised to a 7-2 victory.

Two penalties from Jonny Alexander, a brace from the prolific Rob Jacobs and further strikes from Andy Rosenberg and James Rosenberg secured victory.

David Seligman and Robert Selwyn were on target for Oakhill, who will now turn their attention to Sunday’s Peter Morrison Trophy clash against Manchester Maccabi 1st.
