Manchester Maccabi moved to within five points of top spot after beating Bury & Whitefield by nine wickets.

On the hottest day of the year so far, it was home side Bury who really felt the heat as in-form Maccabi, who put them into bat, reaped early rewards.

Saunders was first to go - well bowled by Adam Goldstone and Shimon Harris managed to steady the ship for the next dozen overs with Stuart Levington but stuggled to score from the accurate bowling of Goldstone, Dan Franks, and ‘Volcanic’ Ash Landes.

Sadly for Bury a collapse soon began, as Maccabi skipper Ray Tammam brilliantly ran out S. Levington and soon after caught Harris from the bowling of Steven Allweis.
