REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 3 FC TEAM B 1
Sam Rank believes Redbridge B's new formation paid dividends as they produced one of the results of the week, with a 3-1 success denting FC Team's promotion hopes.
On a brisk morning at Fairlop, a very well-drilled RJC B showed their potential with an excellent all-round team performance. Handing a debut to the talented goalkeeper Scott Shear, RJC adopted a new formation designed by managers Sam Rank and Richie Caplin which they had worked on during training, and the formation worked perfectly.
The game started with RJC B dominating the play, with Chernoff brothers being effective on the wings, while Adam Noble sat in front of the centre backs and dictated the play, with Noble sitting in front of the centre. This gave the freedom to centre midfield trio of Daniel Bean, Carl Dobrin and Brad Gayer to bomb forward.
RJC B took the lead after half hour mark when good work on the right-hand side saw Sam Moss play the ball to the ever-present Gayer who beat the FC Team B defender and finished empathically with his weaker right foot at the near post.
The home side continued to control the game and went in good value for their 1-0 half-time lead, knowing it could have been more.
RJC missed a hatful of chances in the second half, with Sam Moss and Carl Dobrin the culprits. They were made to pay with 10 minutes to go when giant Team equalised. A long punt from FC Team B keeperwas allowed to to bounce and a lack of communication between the two RJC B centre backs Dan Alderman and Dan Andrews let Richard Salmon one-on-one with Shear and he tucked away his goal clinically.
This prompted a big reaction from the RJC B boys; on 86 minute a free-kick was awarded to RJC B and a delicious cross from the outstanding Brad Gayer was met by Carl Dobrin, who placed a controlled header over the FC Team B keeper to give RJC B A 2-1 lead.
RJC B pushed on in the final stages and closed the game out with a third goal, when the tireless Daniel Bean won the ball and played in Gayer who unselfishly passed to super-sub David Fialka to finish the game off.
Jubilant joint-manager Sam Rank told JC Sport: "It was fantastic performance today from the boys. All 1-14 were outstanding.
"The squad have brought into the style of play and new formation this week and did not disappoint. Special mentions to Adam Noble and Brad Gayer who simply just class today.
"We move on to next week big derby game against Real Sosobad, were I am expecting fireworks and another big performance from the lads."
FC Team boss Mitch Young told JC Sport: "This was our worst performance of the season. Missing players did not help, however Redbridge deserved the win and we hope to do a lot better next time we play them."
