This was a game in which Jewdinese "were far from our best," according to boss Darren Lawrence. It was a match of missed chances for Mill Hill Dons as their failings in front of goal meant they dropped points for the first time in 2020.
The first half was evenly balanced, and it was 'Nese who forged ahead after a goalmouth scramble was smashed home by Brin.
The Dons equalised soon after when 'Nese failed to clear and a low cross was well finished by Ben Rodol - his first goal for the club.
However, just before half-time, some great work on the wing from Nicky Silverstone saw his cross fall to the feet of Brin, whose left-footed chip sailed over the keeper and into the goal. The Dons appealed for what they felt was "a clear handball in the build-up" but their protests were waved away by the referee.
The home side came out strongly in the second half and after a couple of half chances went begging, they finally killed the game off when a long clearance from goalkeeper Ben Halmer set Reiss Mogilner free. He raced away from his defender and calmly slotted home to secure the points.
Relieved 'Nese boss Darren Lawrence said: "I'm mildly concerned that we are not quite performing where we need to be, given the run of three huge games we have now. However, I am convinced we are possess the quality that is necessary to perform how we need to.
"We improved a lot in the second half and now go into a run of three season-defining games, starting with a huge test against HMH next week."
Dons manager, Jamie Nagioff, tpld: "We're all coming away from the game really frustrated. It was a fairly even game but we certainly had the chances to get at least a point today.
"We hit the woodwork twice from distance, squandered three one-on-ones and when the opposition get a goal that should never have stood, it starts to feel like it's just not going to be your day.
"That said, I saw enough from the boys today to suggest that we're still in a good place as a team right now, and we should be looking to target a win next time out against Jewdinese."
