The NBA's two Jewish stars ‑— Omri Casspi of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Jordan Farmar of the New Jersey Nets — have both held preliminary talks about a temporary move to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The pair are in talks with Maccabi due to serious concerns that the NBA strike may wipe out the entire season. Farmar said: "I'm definitely considering playing in Israel but there is nothing concrete yet."

Farmar, who earns $4 million a year with the Nets, would be unlikely to pocket more than $500,000 for a season in Israel.
