South Manchester 2nd goalkeeper Gary Stewart was rushed to hospital with a facial injury during his side’s 4-1 defeat against league leaders Haroldeans.

Stewart received 15 stitches after being caught in the face by Adam Boyars, who was sent off on his first start for the Merseysiders.

But despite being reduced to 10 men, Haroldeans racked up their sixth win in six league matches to move four points clear at the top of the MJSL.

James Harris scored twice, while an own-goal and an Alistair Goldsmith strike sealed the victory with Simon Madison replying for South.
