Tony Milch insists the sight of seeing the International Challenger belt around his waist was well worth the wait.
The Bushey bruiser landed his first title with an 80-73 points win over Bulgarian Konstantin Aleksandrov.
Milch's preparation had hardly run smoothly prior to his light-middleweight bout in Bethnall Green.
Two change of fighters and an 11th-hour postponement - just hours before the initial planned fight on July 30 - saw his plans disrupted.
But after winning his first title fight just past midnight, Milch said: "I was last one and it was late - but it was certainly worth the wait.
"To have that belt around me is something I have been working towards for some time.
"It was an amazing experience to be celebrating in front of my fans at such an iconic venue. All the hard work I had put in was rewarded.
"It was a fight I dominated from the start and I couldn't be happier with how I boxed. I was in control throughout.
"You can't always have stoppages and his record shows he is hard to knockdown.
"He didn't really come out and that made it harder.
"It's about not making a mistake and keeping your concentration over a longer period than usual.
"I still felt fresh and fit after the final bell had gone. To feel so relaxed and still win every round just underlined my superiority."
Milch says his next plan is to take a summer holiday before stepping up a level.
His next fight will be pencilled in for the end of September or the start of October as he bids for his 12th pro win.
He added: "I'm still buzzing but I will take a small break and then look towards my next fight. I will leave it in the hands of my promoter.
"But ideally I want a 10-round fight next. I'm ready for that. I've proven I can move to a new level with every fight.
"I'm focused and my fitness is very good. That's what I pride myself on so I have the confidence to step up whoever I face."
