Milch secures eighth victory after knockdown at York Hall

Milch made the count and look relatively untroubled in east London on Saturday night.

Now on track for that title bout, Milch said: “I plan to rest up for a week after an intense training schedule and then look for another two more fights during September, October and November.

"I want that title fight and I’m on track for it. That would mean fighting for the Southern Area or Lonsdale Challenger belt.

"That will be for at least eight rounds. I normally fight for six so this and then that will be a change for me. Of course I was disappointed to be put down. It was a flash knockdown.

"I know he wanted a brawl and he caught me off balance.

"But one good thing out of it was that it shows that even if I do suffer something like that in the ring, I can get straight back up and carry on.”

Milch, who was roared on by around 100 fans, claims he was inspired by making his pro debut at the country’s best known boxing venue.

He said: "I loved fighting there. There was such great support there for me too and the atmosphere was electric.

"My promoter is planning to put on a few more shows there and I hope to box there again soon. It was the most vocal crowd I’ve fought in front."
