Matchday 10 features a bumper programme of action in league and the Cyril Anekstein Cup where Premier Division leaders Redbridge Jewish Care A must avoid a banana skin in the shape of first division table-toppers Brady Maccabi, while there's the small matters of a Hendon United Sports Club derby.

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND THREE
ATHLETIC BILBAUM vs FC TEAM A
FC Team are buzzing following their stunning late comeback at Hendon last week.
Kane Gilbery and Bar Hariely were their goal-scoring heroes in a contest where Adam Aminoff and Yoav Lebens also stood out.
Not too many teams will fancy playing opponents featuring the likes of Ed Weisz, Lebens and Gilbery, while there was also great intent from the rest of the FC Team squad last week.
The opening weeks of the season haven’t gone to plan for Bilbaum team who scored three times against L’Equipe last week.
They are capable of producing a big performance and their fans will be bang up for it.
But over the course of 90 minutes I can only see one winner.

FAITHFOLD B vs CAMDEN PARK
Little is going right for Faithfold B right now. First Sam Reeves suffers a long-term ankle injury, then star striker Ben Zloof breaks his leg. Whatever next?
On Sunday they welcome Premier Division joint-leaders Camden Park – a game which manager Elliott Bloom will name his strongest available squad, knowing they are capable of pushing Camden all the way.
This is the beginning of a tricky phase for Camden and it’s vital they maintain their momentum. No doubt they will show Faithfold respect but Will Castle has players who can over-run the Superhoops and come away with the right result.
JC team news: Faithfold are missing Sam Reeves and Ben Zloof, while Camden top-scorer Rob Hershkorn has been ruled out until the new year.

JC star man: Michael Khalastchi (Camden)
DC Prediction: Faithfold 1 Camden 2

OAKWOOD B vs NORTH LONDON RAIDERS C
Jason Stein looked happy as Larry when I visited the club’s state-of-the-art training ground to present him with the JC’s Manager of the Month award.
His team was on the way to maintaining their unbeaten start against Faithfold B last week before a sickening injury cut short the game, but it was a useful 51-minute run-out for his lads.
"Good afternoon, DC. I'm just about to send the final programme design to the printer. Special edition issue this week for the cup and all that.
"Thanks for bringing the Manager of the Month award with you. It means a lot to me and just to ensure the curse doesn't strike I will be staying away from the game this weekend while I tackle urgent scouting business up north.
"Raiders C. Our old friends from last year. We enjoyed a good record against them but no Raiders side will be a walkover. The C-team has a nice set up.
"Nonetheless, I've told my players that it's win or bust this week. We simply have to take this opportunity to reach the last eight of the Cyril Anekstein Cup.
"I believe we will because we have the quality. With the greatest of respect to everyone at Raiders, I know if we play to our best then we will win this match.
"We'll have to earn the win though. It's a watershed moment for the B's and a chance to play with the big sides in the next round.
"November is a huge month and the pressure is on. Four wins from four is the aim."
Raiders C were left shell-shocked by Faithfold C last week. Nick Haringman and Charles Braunstein put them in pole position for the win but they were blown away in the second half. But boss Zack Gothelf vowed: “We will bounce back.”
NLR David Domb told JC Sport: "Oakwood games are generally a battle so we're expecting nothing less.
"Jason has built up a very good side there and it's not a surprise they've started the season so well.
"But we need to make Sunday about us. I have no idea what went wrong last weekend, we just need to get that result out of our system. We have a group capable of much better, and they're ready to show it once again."
The signs all point towards an Oakwood win, but Raiders won’t make it easy for them.
JC team news: Bobby Abrams returns and is staking a claim for his first Oakwood start since rejoining. Aaron Searle also returns in central midfield and Oren Hury will keep goal. The core group remains the same.
Venue – Nicholas Breakspear, Ref – Keith Goodman
Adam Leveson returns for Raiders after missing last week. Sam Cherkas, Luke Goldsmith and Nick Haringman are among the absent NLR players.
JC star man: Aaron Searle (Oakwood)
DC Prediction: Oakwood 3 Raiders 1

REAL SOSOBAD vs HARMEN
Sosobad played Harmen in a friendly just over a year ago but Sunday will be very different as both teams have strengthened significantly, especially Harmen.
Dominic Cheniart is the latest big name to join their ranks and he will add quality, pace and passion – ingredients that are turning Harmen into serious challengers in all competitions this season. A front two of Cheniart and Gershfield will scare the living daylights out of most teams.
Both were on the mark against Redbridge last week in a game where they came from two goals down to earn a point. Bradley Sharp, Cheniart and Gershfield registered.
Ahead of kick-off, Harmen's Joel Alterman told JC Sport: "Last time we faced Real Sosobad was in their first ever pre season friendly and for a new team they gave us a very good test.
"By all accounts they played some very nice football last season, earning themselves promotion and they have continued their form into this season, sitting joint second in a tough Division 1.
"We expect Sosobad to come at us from the first whistle, they will take advantage of their underdog status but the strength and quality of our team will shine through."
Sosobad boss Dan Shafron isn’t happy with the number of goals his team has conceded in recent week, but he knows Harmen will take some stopping.
"Harmen will be our biggest challenge so far this season as well as our toughest game in our two years as an MSFL club," Shafron told JC Sport.
"We know what they are all about, they’ve got some outstanding footballers and I’m looking forward to seeing the likes of my cousin Jake Gottlieb in action.
"My hopes are that my team to compete for every ball, commit to every challenge, stay positive, focused and never give up.
"There have been some giant killings before, I can’t promise we will go down in the history books as one of them but we will give it our best shot.”
The first 20 minutes are crucial for Sosobad. They must keep things tight and try to frustrate Harmen and get into their faces as they will get picked off at will if they allow them time and space.
JC team news: Harmen's Bradley Sharp dislocated his shoulder last week so faces a spell on the sidelines while Elliott Stern sits out the final game of his suspension.

JC star man: Rob Blackman (Harmen)
DC Prediction: Sosobad 1 Harmen 3

HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A vs HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B
Adam Glekin’s men will face a wounded Hendon A team who have failed to win any of their last three matches. I can’t remember the last time that happened.
The B’s are flying high at the top of Division Two but they face their toughest test of the season against last season’s Morrison winners. They are 25-1 to win in normal time.
Glekin has a strong squad available to select from. He told JC Sport: "Obviously we're massive underdogs, it's a big step up in quality from the teams we've been playing but stranger things have happened.
"We've won five on the bounce and they've had a couple of disappointing results so we'll go there believing we can pull off then shock.
"We've got absolutely nothing to lose, and if we defend like we have been then we've got a chance - I think going forward we'll cause any team problems."
Nine out of 10 times this would be straightforward for Hendon A, but as Chelsea are showing, they are only human and mistakes are being punished.
But manager David Garbacz is confident normal service will be resumed on Sunday. He told JC Sport: “This game should be seen as a great opportunity to get things back on track again.
“The B’s will think they’ve got us at a good time but if anything they will be on the receiving end of a backlash.
“Everyone is well aware that performances both individually and collectively have not been up to standards but all we need is a good win and we will be right back where we want to be.
“Last week was a hammer blow – more so than the Redbridge game as we had most players back and available and we must cut out errors and get right back to ruthless basics in all areas of the pitch.
“We are looking forward to this game – the Hendon B boys are a fine bunch of lads and have done well in their division so far this season, but there won’t be any upsets here I can assure you.”
So no need to send my camera crew down this week, David!
JC team news: Most of the squad have now recovered from injuries. Ari Last is still doubtful while Rafi Kon is out.
Hendon B will have to cope without the dangerous Saul Cohen, as well as Sammy Barron who has made an impressive start to his Hendon B career but will miss his first game since joining the club. Yehuda Fink and Ben Blackston both return to the Hendon B squad, and Gideon Barth and Josh Richman are hopeful of passing late fitness tests.

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A vs BRADY MACCABI
Redbridge and Brady have hit top gear which means five-star entertainment is guaranteed in Sunday’s Match of the Day.
RJC boss Jon Jacobs was on a scouting mission to the Far East this week and he is confident his Orient Express will stay on track for the treble against the Division One leaders.
"We're full-strength for Sunday,” Jacobs declared after touching down at the airport.
"The boys are raring to go against what I believe to be a Premier League team in all but name, they will be as good as anything we will face this season.
"We had some great battles with them over the last few seasons so look forward to renewing acquaintance with Josh and his team; it will be nice to actually play them this time!
"We will have a big crowd awaiting them for what will be a cracker of a cup tie."
Brady’s fresh-faced approach has won them many new fans this season and it’s clear the rampant Reiss Mogilner is the man to stop. He has scored an incredible four consecutive hat-tricks and the 10-1 price on a fifth will tempt most Brady fans.
Quality will be high on the agenda in a contest featuring two highly-skilled outfits and Josh Dagul’s troops know they will have to produce something quite special if they are to overcome the odds.
Brady's Josh Dagul told JC Sport: "Sunday will be a really tough test for us, especially as we are looking quite short this Sunday and RJC a fantastic side.
"However, we've started the season in top form and will try to play our usual game and have a real go at them.
"I'm confident that it'll be played in typical cup spirits and should be a great game for the neutral.
"Hopefully we can cause an upset and be in the hat for the next round."
Sunday will come down to who wins the majority of first and second balls and their individual and collective battles.
Don’t miss it!
JC team news: Redbridge duo Nathan Sollosi and Scott Oldstein return from University for the weekend. Daniel Jacobs returns for one week only as RJC’s Social Media correspondent.

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B vs OAKWOOD A
Oakwood used to have a thing about playing on 3G, but they are right at home on it these days and they are playing extremely well.
They are a completely different animal compared to six months ago and I expect that to show, with Dave Woolman banging in the goals. Throw Guy Helman, Brad Wine and the returning Anthony Kintish into the mix and you have an awesome outfit who don’t concede many goals.
The Oaks are playing some irresistible stuff but they certainly won’t get carried away with Daniel Kristall, Ric Blank and Alex Schock at the helm.
Raiders have been hit and miss this season, which is a surprise, but do I really fancy them to go Arsenal and win? No, I don't.
They go into this tie on the back of a couple of tough tests which they ultimately failed against Redbridge B and Brady.
The biggest problem is keeping clean sheet and manager Jonathan Adelman will hope to see a massive improvement from them.
It would not surprise me in the slightest if Raiders but numbers behind the ball and try to play on the counter but I think Oakwood will have too much across the park.

BLIZZARD STORM vs MACCABI LONDON LIONS A
This game has draw written all over it for me, so it’s down to one of the teams to stand up and be counted.
Last week’s 3-0 success at Faithfold eased the pressure on boss Simon Linden who continues to sniff around for free agents to bolster his squad.
Young Jonti Amberald was a real find. The 17-year-old made JC Team of the Week following his twinkle-toed performance at the Hive on Sunday and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he caught the eye of the on-looking Barnet FC coaches.
Sean Ladier was a beast at the back. Nothing got past him, while Andrei Grayson capped a fine performance with a goal. More of the same is order of the day from Linden.
The Blizzard gaffer told JC Sport: "It's a huge opportunity for us to get another three points and away from the bottom two.
"It's not going to be easy, Lions picked up a good point against Camden last week and will want to build on that."
Blizzard midfielder Andrei Grayson told JC Sport: "We're looking to build on a big win last week. The squad is starting to be back where it was last time we played Lions, with a number of players back from injury. Hopefully we can start to gain some momentum away from the bottom two."
A battling display earned the Lions a point at high-flying Camden last week, but can they do it on a miserable, damp morning in Borehamwood? That’s the million dollar question.

FC TEAM B vs LOS BLANCOS
With most of the sides above them involved in cup action, FC Team B will be looking to close the gap at the top as they welcome Blancos to their Mill Hill home.
Three points would lift Mitch Young’s troops above the whites as they look to extend their unbeaten league run to four.
Richard Salmon (2) was the chief tormentor last week as Team hit Brixton for six, but it was teenage winger Dylan Young who earned the plaudits from his gaffer following a promising display that culminated in his first goal for the club.
Young expects a testing 90 minutes against Blancos and told JC Sport: “We’re looking forward to another league game. We are in good form, scoring lots of goals and are going about our business nicely.
"I expect a tough physical game where we will be tested but we know if we play well we will win the game.”
Jonathan Ison came away from last week’s 2-2 draw against Sosobad frustrated. They have now won two, drawn two and lost two and the manager knows consistency is key if they are to stay in the top half.
"Last week's draw felt like a loss,” Ison told JC Sport. “We had chances and should have killed off the game.
"We really want that level of performance again this week against FC Team, however, we are not at full strength this week unfortunately.
"We know what we're up against with FC Team, and it will be tough, but we know if we perform as well as last week, and add the killer instinct, we have more than a good chance."
The battle between the Team attack and the Blancos defence will be key on Sunday but I think the hosts will have too much in the tank on the day.

REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B vs SPEC FC
Redbridge felt sick as parrots when SPEC FC snatched a thrilling 5-4 victory in north London a fortnight ago so Jason Goldstein’s warriors will be looking to set the record straight on Sunday.
Goals from Josh Orgel (2), Scott McKenzie and Jay Lawerence were not enough that day as SPEC fought until the bitter end to break RJC hearts.
"The name of the game is revenge for the RJC B troops,” Sam Rank told JC Sport.
"After the first-half domination against SPEC two weeks ago, we expected to pick up three points. However, the boys suffered from bad tactical decisions.
"A lot of hard work has gone into training the last two weeks, and this was displayed in 4-2 over NLR B last week.
"The boys are confident of a very big performance, and three points will push us nicely into mid-table and then we hope to push.
SPEC FC were second best against table-toppers Brady last week. Simple as that. And manger Ricky Lawrence was honest enough to admit it.
But the prospect of completing their first league double of the season will surely spur them on here.
Lawrence told JC Sport: "It was a tough defeat last week. We know we have to play a lot better to win games this season but likewise we know we have the ability to do so.
"Our last game against Redbridge was a thriller, we'll be hoping to come off on top again but it's certainly going to be a tough game."
RJC have more goal-scoring options on paper and that’s why I’m tipping them to nick it.
JC team news: Ross Segal, Eli Dias and David Cohen are now travelling for a month in Australia, RJC wish them a safe flight and a good time. Jamie Gordon and Brad Gayer are unavailable as they will be in Watford Celebrating Brad’s birthday. Richie Caplin returned last week from injury and will be having a late fitness to see if he can play. Adam Noble returns to the squad.

WOODFORD WANDERERS vs BRIXTON OLD BOYS
Woodford are one of my Super 6 selections this weekend against a Brixton team who have lost four on the spin.
I really like the look of the Wanderers squad this season and what they’re trying to achieve. Under Daryl Kay and Jerome Marks they are playing with freedom and big smiles on their faces and all their big guns are ready to tear Brixton apart.
Kay told JC Sport: "We’re finally at full strength this weekend. We welcome back Hall of Famer Harrison Midda from nine months away, and Andy Levy makes his return to the squad following a stint on the sidelines with knee problems.
"Amir Nathan is fully fit and available for selection although will face tough competition for the left-back slot where Ell Gold has been playing exceptionally well.
"Our defence and keeper remains unchanged from the team that comfortably beat Faithold, and last week saw vice-captain Dave Green and Alex Aviram have their best game together so far.
"The only change is that my co-manager Jerome is in the holy land (Ed. Oya broch!), although he had this to say. “It’s great to have such a strong squad to choose from this week. I’ve heard Mike’s Place in Tel Aviv is going to be packed for a live streaming of the game!"
Kay continued: “We’re aware of Brixton's position in the league but won’t be taking anything for granted, or taking them lightly. We want to make a statement and break away from the teams below."
Mitch Hahn and Midda smashed it up as a pairing two seasons ago and I can see it being a long morning for Brixton.

DIVISION TWO
DIVISION THREE TEAM OF THE WEEK
TOP-SCORERS

7 - Dean Rosenthal (ML Lions B), Zak McLeod (Scrabble FC)
BOCA JEWNIORS vs FAITHFOLD C
Rob Shooman hopes the JC Manager of the Week curse doesn’t strike when he Faithfold C squad visits Boca.
Dan ‘Flash’ Gordon instigated a thrilling comeback against Raiders C last week, with Dave Sherman adding the gloss with two well-taken finishes.
Hendon B, Scrabble FC, Lions and L’Equipe have set the bar high this season, but Shooman has the players to mount a sustained promotion push and be there or thereabouts come May. But to achieve that they need consistency of results and performances, and everyone in the squad to deliver.
Boca lie rooted to the foot of the table but they have enough weapons to make it an uncomfortable morning for the Superhoops.
They were edged out by Catford last week – the third time they’ve failed to score in the league this season.
Boca’s Anton Nyman told JC Sport: “It’s going to be a tough one Sunday. Faithfold are right up there in the league and always provide a stern test for us, although last season we actually had a pretty decent record against them.
"Whilst the squad is looking fairly healthy for Sunday, there's an intense rivalry building ahead of the north London derby later in the afternoon and I hope that doesn't split the squad open too much!"
Venue – Aycliffe Road
JC star man: Ben Myatt (Faithfold)
DC Prediction: Boca 1 Faithfold 4

SCRABBLE FC vs FC TEAM C
High-flying Scrabble hope to finish the weekend a point behind pace-setters Hendon B when they take on FC Team C on Sunday.
Ray Abrahams’s troops have won five on the bounce but they are not thinking about any Les Invicibles tags at the moment, more one game at a time. That’s the Abrahams’ way.
Zak McLeod will have his tail up after winning the JC Division Two Player of the Month title, while Danny Sherman is keen to improve his goals return.
Elliott Espinoza has been outstanding up to now and his partnership in midfield with Joshua Flax is reaping dividends.
Ahead of kick-off, Abrahams told JC Sport: “We have had a fantastic start to the season with five wins from five and my players are on fire at the moment.
“But we have also become the team to beat and other teams are raising their game against us.
“We cannot afford any slip ups and we know FC Team are a good side who have been unlucky in a few games this season so they have our 100 per cent respect
“It’s still early days in the league but we will be hoping for three points to continue our great start.”
Team were ultimately well beaten by Lions last week but with key personnel returning, they will be looking to give a better account of themselves.
Team’s David Gordon told JC Sport; “We have another tough game this weekend but we have a couple of players returning so hopefully we’ll be in good shape.
“If we can defend like we did for the majority of the game last weekend, and be a bit more clinical, then we are confident of getting a result.”
It’s hard to identify a weakness in this Scrabble team who I can see recording a professional win.
JC team news: Adam Newman (hamstring) and Sam Ruback (ankle) and long-term absentees Tom Prevezer, Dan Green and Doron Salomon all miss out for Scrabble.
Centre back Mike Myers returns and Eitan Ben-Zion has a late fitness test. Top goal scorer Josh Cooper returns to the side

MACCABI LONDON LIONS B vs CATFORD & BROMLEY MACCABI
Lions B are another team with a 100 per cent league record and they will be looking to notch up their fifth win against the Cats at the Lane on Sunday.
Daniel Mattey marked his return to action with a goal in last week’s 3-0 success over FC Team, with captain marvel Ed Brafman and Josh Bloom clinching the points.
But joint-manager Samuel Marchant is taking nothing for granted ahead of Sunday’s meeting. He told JC Sport: "With Catford and Bromley registering their first victory last week, and knocking on the door of getting victories in the weeks prior to that, they're clearly a side which is improving as the season goes on.
“Again, this is not going to be an easy task, but we are playing at home and we should be able to register a victory if all goes to plan.
“We've started the season well and we continue to push on and want to make a statement in the league to show the other teams what we can do."
The decision to appoint Jeff Gotch as manager is proving an inspired one for Catford & Bromley. He has already scored some important goals, including last week’s winner at Boca.
But they face a challenge of a very different kind on Sunday. Gotch told JC Sport: “This week is going to be a cracker.
“We on the up but Lions are already up and from what I know they are a young side who play the game the way it should be played.
“We're confident we can cause an upset and continue our run going. We’re buzzing at the moment and after keeping a clean sheet last week will be looking for more of the same.
"We know we can score goals so the fans may be in for an end-to-end game.”
For me, Sunday is about how Catford defence, but I fear the Lions will hold too many aces.
JC team news: Catford have a full squad bar Jordan Grant and Adam Parker but Gotch have “ample cover and come Sunday morning the boys know we have to be at our very best.
Venue – Rowley Lane

DC Prediction: Lions 3 Catford 1

TEMPLE FORTUNE vs L’EQUIPE
L’Equipe just seem to get better and better. They are a much-improved team this season and enjoying life under JC Manager of the Month Nick Stern.
They showed bags of character against Bilbaum last week when JC Player of the Week Mark Smith produced a true master-class.
But they can exchange a challenge of a very different kind this week against a battling Temple Fortune team.
Ahead of kick-off, Stern told JC Sport; “Once again momentum is the key word this week.
“We know for the first time in a while we go into the game against Temple Fortune as favourites but certainly will not be taking our opponents lightly.
“I actually started my men’s football career at Temple Fortune so know what a class organisation they are so they deserve all the respect in the world leading up to the game on Sunday.
“However, once the whistle blows for kick-off we must ensure that we are first to every header and tackle, give 100 per cent and then again we will come away with a victory.
“We had a bit of a celebration this week with Mark winning Player of the Week, James Mendel being part of the Division Two Team of the Week and myself winning Manager of the Month, but I will assure you these success will not go to anyone’s head as our aim as it has been all season is to lift the trophy at the end of the season, that is all anyone is concentrating on.
Fortune are reeling from the news that they “may have lost” David Sawyer for the season as he faces shoulder surgery. Boss Jonathan Cohen told JC Sport: “He will be a loss on the pitch but we have the players to step up.”
And step up they will need to on Sunday.
JC team news: L’Equipe have “a few absentees this week” including Nick Stern, James Bell, Grant Bates and goal-scoring hero from last week, Mark Smith, as well as the long-term absentee Rob. However, Andy Smith will be leading the line once again and Stern “is sure he will try to top his brother’s performance of last week”. L’Equipe also welcome back our keeper Mark Glucksman as well as “the flick-on hero himself” John Kay.
Lee Fegan serves a one match ban for Fortune, but they have a guest appearance from club hero Tony Hirschstein in goal this week. Adam Lenz up front returns up front.
